This workshop is a favorite, especially for those at the very beginning or the early stages of their practice, but ti's even been helpful to those who desire to better understand safe alignment after practicing for years. It is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga on the mat and focusses on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses.
The purpose of this class is to introduce you to basic yoga postures, their Sanskirt names, healthy alignment of the spine, and how to best utilize props.
You will also be introduced to Pranayama (breathing techniques); a key component to understanding our breath and a wonderful tool for those of us who struggle with stress and anxiety.
Lastly, we will discuss the many different varieties of Yoga that are offered so that you can better understand which type of class you are walking into.
Above all I hope to assist you in feeling comfortable, confident and safe in any yoga studio environment!
