19th June . WOMEN'S CIRCLE . Yoga Mandali | NY

  • Yoga Mandali 454 Broadway Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 United States (map)

Together, Jocelyn Farrell and Michelle Baker have co-created a profound evening of gathering, healing, movement, inquiry, guidance, and rich conversation. And it just so happens that Monday is a day ruled by the moon, making it an ideal evening for gathering.

Our circle is centered around the theme of POWER, and the conversation is facilitated by Jocelyn and Michelle, two women who have been teaching and guiding hundreds of women.

Here, expect a safe, sacred container for us all to show up authentically, listen, relate, express our truth, and feel supported, respected and honored by other women. A space to process experiences. A space for community. A space to share, to laugh, and to cry together.

We also have the energies of the upcoming Summer Solstice and New Moon to call in and work with.

This evening is open to all women.

We are hard wired for soul connections. And when women support each other, incredible things happen.

JOCELYN FARRELL. After years of struggling with anxiety and depression, Jocelyn finally turned to yoga as a way to reduce stress and cultivate mindfulness. It quickly became an integral part of her life, bringing her back to her own sense of Self and reigniting her connection to Spirit. Jocelyn understands firsthand what a transformative journey yoga can be, and she wishes to inspire growth and healing in others by offering a nurturing environment for students to explore the intricacies of their practice, on and off the mat, and tune into the wisdom of the subtle body.

With a focus on pranayama (breath), mindfulness, and compassion, Jocelyn encourages her students to be curious about their thoughts, feelings, and reactions, and invites room for acceptance of the experience as it is. Her vinyasa flow style uses breath awareness to establish a steady connection to the body, and incorporates thoughtful sequencing which often starts slowly and builds from the ground up to create a powerful moving meditation. This, along with Jocelyn’s calm, supportive energy, empowers students to believe in their own worth, release limiting perceptions, and reconnect to the innate wisdom and grace that exists within each of us. Her approach to teaching is filled with intentions for the highest good of her students and she meets each person where they are, with equanimity and ease.

Jocelyn is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, trained by Gopi Kinnicutt in the traditions of Bhakti Yoga at Yoga Mandali in 2013. She has since studied under the influences of Ana Forrest, Coby Kozlowski, Gaura Vani, Edwin Bryant, and Carolyn Myss. In 2015 she received her Reiki I and II certification under the lineage of Dr. Usui, trained by Anne Cameron at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont. She has also completed Nini Gridley’s Full Spectrum Healing Chakra series, and in 2017 she received her certificate in Mindful Self Compassion with Ann Saffi Biasetti. Off the mat, you will find her enjoying the outdoors, where she feels most connected to Spirit, or snuggled up with a good book or movie!

MICHELLE BAKER is a mentor, a yoga teacher, a facilitator of Moon Ceremonies, and an energy worker. She now lives in Sweden, but New York is her first home and where she began her journey into mindfulness and holistic living. She is the mama of Tiny Yoga Space which recently opened in the Swedish west-coast surf town of Varberg. This summer she will be teaching at her first festival, Hallifornia, a weekend-long summer event in the heart of Varberg.

Michelle is an transformational mentor specializing in empowerment; working with hundreds of women and men supporting them on their path of inner growth.

Her work has taken her around the globe mentoring via one-on-one sessions and workshops, teaching yoga and leading Moon Ceremonies. Most recently her love of traveling introduced her to collaborating with some wise, wise souls creating and leading international retreats; a journey that allows her to incorporate all her teachings into a group setting alongside those she admires.

She is a student at heart and admires the depth of wisdom her Teachers continue to plant.

Coffee is her vice. Food and Ceremony are her Medicine.
